The US government is ready to spend $5 billion to support the construction of charging points for electric vehicles as part of President Joe Biden’s plan to build 500,000 electric charging points on highways and in communities across the US, the Federal Highway Administration said in a statement. The TRANSPORTATION Department has submitted a proposed rule that would set standards for charging pile construction. Charging stations funded by the us government must use dc fast chargers. Each charging pile must have at least four charging ports, which can charge up to four cars at the same time, and each port must have a power of 150kW. All electric vehicle charging equipment will be required to be certified by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s nationally recognized testing laboratory.
